1.Reduced Food Waste

The food we waste each year contributes 4.4 gigatons, equivalent to about 8% of the anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. Wholesale, retail, and restaurants can also play important roles. For example, suppliers and food products that use clear, standardized "use by" and "best by" labels allow consumers to better understand the best freshness of products and avoid unnecessary waste. Restaurants can provide flexible portion sizes, provide fewer menu items, and encourage customers to take leftovers home.

2. Stop Cutting Down Trees

Amazon and other forests are called the lungs of the Earth. Thirty-three million acres of forest are cut down every year. Wood, which is only harvested in tropical regions, contributes 1.5 billion metric tons of carbon to the atmosphere. It accounts for 20 percent of man-made greenhouse gas emissions and is a relatively easy resource to avoid.
When purchasing wood products, such as furniture and floors, purchase used products, or, otherwise, wood that is guaranteed of sustainable yields.

3. Using Renewable Energy

Reducing fossil fuels will be the most effective but hard to achieve to stop global warming. This is because we use fossil fuels for everything; products for eat, wear, sleep and work. Thus, using renewable energy will make a big change. Instead of burning coals or oils, renewable energy such as solar energy, wind energy and hydroelectric power will be more eco-friendly. They will produce less chemicals, such as carbon dioxide, that will be harmful.

4. Transportation

Transportation emits the second largest amount of greenhouse gas. Thus we could reduce transportation gas by using other transportation such as walking, cycling, buses or subways. Using human energy like walking or cycling will produce none of the harmful gases and public transportation like buses or subways uses natural gases.
